Please join us in welcoming Ms. Vivian Guerrero to the Leggett ISD family! She will be our 1st grade Teacher. Ms. Guerrero is a graduate of Texas A&M University–Commerce and holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She begins her 15th year in education, bringing experience teaching students from Kindergarten through 6th grade. Outside the classroom, Ms. Guerrero has been married for nearly 20 years and is the proud mother of two sons, ages 19 and 16. She loves to travel and has explored more than 30 states across the U.S. and 10 different countries. She brings 43 years of teaching experience and a passion for helping students succeed. Ms. Wheeland is a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a degree in Mathematics and will be teaching 7th through 9th grade Math. She loves seeing the moment when a student says, “They finally get it!” We are thrilled to have her as part of our Pirate family and look forward to an amazing school year! 💙💛🏴‍☠️

🎉 A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO LEGGETT ISD! 🎉 We are proud to celebrate an outstanding achievement—Leggett ISD has been found 100% Compliant in the Texas Education Agency's (TEA) Cyclical Monitoring for Special Education! So what does that mean? Every few years, TEA conducts an in-depth review of a district's special education program. They examine everything from evaluations and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to services, documentation, timelines, and federal and state compliance requirements. It's a rigorous process designed to ensure students with disabilities are receiving the services and support they deserve. Receiving a 100% Compliant rating means Leggett ISD met every standard that was reviewed. This accomplishment didn't happen by accident. It reflects the dedication of our special education teachers, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, related service providers, support staff, and, of course, our students and families who work together every day to make learning successful. This is something our entire community can be proud of. It demonstrates Leggett ISD's commitment to providing every student with the opportunities, support, and education they deserve.
